My first REAL assignment

I was assigned to the Air Defense Board at Ft. Bliss, TX. An uneventful assignment, EXCEPT... that I met Kennon. I was the XO for the Hq Battery. The Board was the Test and Evaluation arm for Air Defense Artillery. While there I saw the testing of one piece of equipment that would become dear to my heart... The Vulcan. 

I eventually volunteered for duty in Viet Nam. It was here that the Artillery Branches split and fortunately I remained with the Field Artillery.
